In the vast universe of human consciousness, entheogens (also known as Master Plants) present themselves as keys that open doors to profoundly revealing feelings.
These ancient remedies have the power to immerse us in inner worlds where the line between reality and fantasy is blurred.
Therefore, I want to share what I am thinking and feeling, so that it is something to be observed.
The Abstract Nature of Reality and Fantasy
The concept of reality is deeply abstract, limited by human perception. What we consider real can only be a subjective interpretation of our senses and thoughts. In the same way, fantasy is a mental construct, a realm where our desires, fears and hopes intertwine to form rich and vivid narratives. I sometimes wonder if what we think of as fantasy is really true reality, and if what we call reality is nothing more than fantasy. Is the madman really the sane one, and the sane one the madman? These labels are merely reflections of our belief systems.
During an entheogen process, our minds may weave incredibly coherent and elaborate stories and fantasies. These narratives emerge in subtle ways, resonating deeply with our innermost longings and desires. In these altered states of consciousness, we may experience experiences so vivid and compelling that they seem to form a parallel reality, a reality that responds to our deepest aspirations and unrealised dreams.
The Parallel Reality of Our Desires
These encounters with parallel realities can be as much a reflection of our desires as an expression of our fears and hopes. The mind, in its infinite capacity to create, shows us scenes and situations that seem so real that we are led to accept them as absolute truths. However, it is crucial to recognise that these visions can also be a mechanism used by the mind to hold on to familiar patterns, resisting the release of what really needs to be released.
Entheogens, by opening these doors of perception, allow us to explore deeply into our being, but also challenge us to discern between what is genuine revelation and what is a projection of our desires and fears. It is in this dance between reality and fantasy that the real spiritual work lies.
The Wisdom of Caution
On the path of self-knowledge and healing it is advisable to maintain an attitude of caution and observation. The visions and feelings that arise can offer us great insights, liberations and healings. But they can also seduce us into believing in absolute truths without question. This is the point where we must remember the importance of not blindly clinging to these experiences, but rather seeing them as part of the vast landscape of our psyche.
We can cultivate an attitude of attentive observation, embracing the different possibilities: both the possibility that what we experience is a profound truth and the possibility that it is a fantasy created by our mind. This practice of discernment allows us to remain open and flexible, avoiding dogma and maintaining a balanced perspective.
The Art of Observation
The key is to develop the art of non-judgmental observation, allowing each experience to show us what it has to show us, without clinging to or rejecting anything. It is in this neutral and open observation that we find the space for true transformation. By observing our visions and feelings from this perspective, we can integrate what is useful to us and release what is not, thus moving forward on our path of healing and spiritual growth.
Processes with entheogens invite us on a profound and transformative journey, where reality and fantasy intertwine in a mystical dance. On this journey, it is essential to maintain an attitude of caution and discernment, allowing our experiences to guide us without falling into the trap of absolute truths. In doing so, we open ourselves to the possibility of deep healing and a broader understanding of our being and the universe around us.
As a final point, this perception is only my own interpretation, from a momentary place of understanding and perception. It can be as true as it is uncertain. But I give it not as a truth, but as an invitation to deepen the observation of the dance between the mind and the Self from a place of openness to the "All is possible".
