Recommendations after a Master Plant Retreat

Share

The journey does not end with the retreat, but continues in everyday life. Integration is key to assimilate and give meaning to what you have experienced. Here you will find some recommendations to go through this process in harmony.

1. Body Care

The experience with sacred plants can be intense on a physical level. It is important to listen to the body and give it what it needs:

  • RestAllow yourself to sleep well and, if necessary, take restorative naps.
  • Conscious EatingPrefer light, natural and nutritious meals. Avoid ultra-processed foods, alcohol and strong stimulants such as coffee in the first few days.
  • HydrationDrink enough water and herbal teas to help cleanse the body.
  • Smooth MovementWalking, stretching or yoga can help you process the experience and release energy.

2. Care of the Mind and Emotions

After a retreat, emotions can fluctuate. Here are some tips to sustain the process:

  • Time for ReflectionWrite in a diary about what you have experienced, the messages you have received and how you feel them in your daily life.
  • Avoid overloading yourselfIf possible, keep a few days of quiet without too many commitments or intense stimuli.
  • Don't Isolate, but Be SelectiveShare only with people you trust who can support your process without judgement.

3. Spiritual and Energetic Practices

Connection practices can help you sustain the energy of the retreat:

  • Meditation or Conscious BreathingEven a few minutes a day can make a big difference.
  • Connection with NatureSpending time outdoors will help you ground the experience.
  • Music and SongsListening to or chanting iccaros, mantras or medicine music can help you to remember and anchor what you have experienced.
  • Snuff or Cocoa (if it is part of your path)Tools such as snuff or ceremonial cocoa can accompany you with respect and moderation.

4. Sacred Space and Home Energy

Creating a harmonious environment can promote integration:

  • Keep your space clean and tidy to sustain clear energy.
  • Lighting a candle or smoking your home with copal, palo santo or herbs such as rosemary and lavender can help you maintain a connection to the sacred.

5. Trust the Process

Integration is a journey in itself. Revelations may arise days or weeks after the retreat. Don't be in a hurry to understand everything, just allow the teachings to unfold at their own pace.

Remember: it is not only what you experienced in the retreat that is important, but how you bring those understandings into your daily life.
